Earth Day 2018: What's everybody up to?

Yep, it's here again. Instead of getting all crazy and re-posting a bunch of infographics and catchy slogans, I decided to share Earth Day from the point of view of some of my favorite organizations -  so here goes:

May you pedal something, reuse something, refuse something, compost something, or just thumb your nose at a gas pump today (and every day)!

Earth Day 2018 tomorrow and plants today!

It always sneaks up on me, so I wanted to give you a little warning:

Earth Day is tomorrow - celebrate everyone's Mother's day by being good to mother earth!

Go get some Lubbock-tolerant plants and help support the people who work so hard to keep us green!

May you choose to live cleaner, regardless of what your neighbors think!

The first lizard (of spring 2018)

the better part of the day

after work
throwing a ball for over-excited hounds

young mockingbird perches
daily witness
to ball fetchers
to frisbee catchers
adding notes daily
a new song performed
atop a pomegranate plant
unruly crowding the fence

and this week
Tuesday
placing a shovel in the shed
a fat gecko scurried away

after work
a better
smiling
part of the day

In case you're missing the green wheels...

If you visit Mesquite Hugger for the bikes and cars and scooters and trucks and my weird obsessions with vintage electric cars and cargo bikes, they've all rolled over to a new home:

If you want to look at older wheeled posts, they're still around:

All the other Mesquite Huggery stuff will still show up here - local wildlife, DIY, gardening, Personal Carbon Reduction, tiny houses, activism, spirituality, and all that other good stuff.

As always, thank you for reading this blog! May your life be steadily less wasteful and steadily more joyful!
