A New [NEW!] Huffy BMX and New Life for Mesquite Hugger on YouTube

Love me some big(ger) wheels!

Thanks, y'all - I have missed you too!

Okay, it's not like me, but I broke down and bought a new (really new) bicycle. I've wanted a plus-sized BMX for a while, and I have a bad habit of bringing Huffy bikes home. Those two stars aligned at a time when I had a little bit of money itching to be spent. I hopped on Huffy.com and five days later a new Huffy Symbol 26 arrived at my house.

We make fun...

It took about 20 minutes to put it together. And since that point I've been riding like a (really heavy, fearful, and creaky) 13-year-old! The neighborhood kids are extremely impressed with my mad bunny hopping skills and the guy who often sleeps near the skate park gave me a bleary thumbs up!

...you can sit on!

I even got so excited that I made a video about it and plopped it onto the very dusty YouTube Channel.

The Huffy received the Greg wave of approval!

Since the Huffy arrived, two other bikes left the herd and went to people who are appreciating and riding them more than I would (since always I'm always out practicing fakies on the big BMX). More people riding equals fewer people sitting around soaking in the news and biting their fingernails.

May your fingernails live unbitten and may you find joy is as easy as riding a bike!

Fossil Free Friday Videos: Monday Motorbikes and a DIY Electric Motorcycle

Okay, this is a very lazy FFF post, but there's some very good stuff here!

Just a preview of the last video (and a run-on sentence)

I stumbled across a couple of Monday Motorbikes videos which answered a few questions for I've had on battery removal and such. (However, I am still unsure about the voltage - two 33 volt packs?) They are definitely worth watching and helped me to appreciate this thing even more. If you are confused about the name, these are from way back in the past when they still called it the Bolt Motorbike.

And finally, here's a video from a crazy German guy who builds an electric motorcycle on almost no budget whatsoever. I won't give too much away, but I love his very simple approach to mounting the electric motor on the old bike. (For those of you with sensitive eyes and ears, there's one cuss word on the video, and I completely agree with the sentiment surrounding it!) Enjoy!

(Please wear a helmet when you ride.)

(This post is dedicated to all of those lovely folks at Exxon who bring us destruction, denial, and Rex Tillerson.)

May we continually choose better and maybe have a little fun along the way.

Techno Detox: The Joy of Missing Out

I realized yesterday that I was very nervous. I noticed that any little downtime in my day had me reaching for my phone to keep my brain distracted. I seem to have lost the ability to just sit. I woke up about four this morning and decided to try something like meditation - to focus on one idea, to ride along on one train of thought. I could not do it. Every 30 seconds or so I would realize that I had jumped the rails and was wandering about the wilderness. I am really struggling with it. I find myself more productive at work if I have music pumping into my ear to keep me distracted enough to focus - without it my brain just wanders and little work gets done.

I used to think that we all walk around starring in our own little movie (or novel, vine, comic book, whatever) but I am starting to understand that I am more of a bit part. See if you can find me in this little video: I forgot my phone

An article on TH yesterday pointed out a book that discusses what I am going through and offers some help for us techno-addicts.

'The Joy of Missing Out' shows us how to find balance in a wired world

Do I have the patience to read it? Which app should I use to download it? Admitting you have a problem is the first step to...

May you have a phenomenal...

Does anyone have a spare phone charger?
